Toggle

Privacy Policy

Toggle is built to keep your data on your iPhone. We don't run servers that collect it, we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we never sell your data. The two exceptions are below: anonymous usage analytics, and Meta's app events SDK, which tells us whether our ads lead to installs.

What Toggle stores, and where

Everything below stays on your iPhone. None of it is sent to us.

Screen Time

If you let Toggle block apps, it uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks. Apple gives Toggle only opaque tokens for the apps you choose; Toggle can't see which apps they are or how you use them. This information never leaves your device, and it's never used for advertising or shared with anyone.

Services you open in Toggle

When you use Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Threads, Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook or Snapchat inside Toggle, you connect to those services directly and they receive what they would receive in any browser. Their own privacy policies apply. Toggle doesn't send them anything about you, and it blocks many of their ad and tracking requests.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We don't receive your name, email or payment details; Apple tells the app only whether your subscription is active.

Usage analytics

Toggle sends PostHog anonymous events about how the app is used: which onboarding steps are reached, how you heard about Toggle (if you tell us), when the subscription screen is shown, and when a subscription starts, with basic device details (model, iOS version, app version) and an identifier created for this install. PostHog derives an approximate location (city and country) from the connection. These events carry no name, account, answers, settings or anything you do in the services you open in Toggle, and they're never used for advertising.

Measuring our ads

Toggle includes Meta's app events SDK so we can see whether our ads lead to installs and subscriptions. It sends Meta events such as the app being opened and a subscription starting, with basic device details (model, iOS version, time zone) and an identifier the SDK creates for this install. It doesn't collect your advertising identifier (IDFA), and Toggle never shares your answers, settings, the services you use in it or anything you do in them. Meta's Data Policy applies to what it receives.

Home Screen icons

The configuration profile that adds Toggle's icons is made on your iPhone and served to Safari from your iPhone.

Contacting us

If you send feedback from Toggle's Settings, we receive your message, the email address you add (if any) and the device details above, and use them only to improve Toggle and to reply. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply. Mail to toggle.social is forwarded by Forward Email to our Gmail inbox, and we keep it only as long as needed to help you.

This website

toggle.social uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for a short time to run and protect the site.

Keeping and deleting your data

Toggle keeps your data on your iPhone until you delete it. Settings → Delete account erases everything Toggle stores and signs you out of every service in it; deleting the app does the same. To stop sharing your Apple account with Toggle, go to your iPhone's Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple. You can turn off Screen Time access and notifications for Toggle in the iPhone's Settings at any time.

Children

Toggle isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

Because Toggle doesn't send your data to us, we don't hold any of it apart from emails you send us and the analytics and ad measurement events above, which aren't linked to your name or account. You can ask us to access or delete them at any time.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Questions: hello@toggle.social.
