The notes below are the App Store release notes, lightly edited, with each version's release date. Updates come through the App Store; with automatic updates on, your iPhone installs them by itself. Open the App Store and search for Toggle to update by hand.
Version 1.6 (October 24, 2026)
- Setup asks how you heard about Toggle, with Google search and AI assistants among the answers.
- A Rate Toggle row in Settings opens the App Store's review form.
- Fixes.
Version 1.5 (October 21, 2026)
- YouTube videos keep playing in a floating player when you leave Toggle, and wide videos turn sideways to fill the screen.
- Notifications from Instagram, X, Facebook and the others arrive when the real app is blocked (they were held back).
- Native headers on X and the others run under the status bar; X's new-posts pill and splash fit the app.
- A tidier Settings, lock icons on the switches that stay on, and Toggle for Safari and Chrome on your Mac.
- Fixes.
The lock icons mark the switches that are on from the first load and can be shown for five minutes at a time: Reels, Shorts, For You and the recommendation feeds. Toggle for iPhone lists them per app.
Version 1.4 (October 19, 2026)
- Faster: pages load and scroll like the plain web, with the app's header and tab bar on top. Background loading, frozen frames and comment sheets are off while they're measured on real phones.
- Fixes.
Version 1.3 (October 15, 2026)
- Unblock for 5 minutes: a short break from Settings, with the real apps blocked again after. Turning blocking off asks first and offers the break instead.
- Fixes.
Block the real apps with Screen Time covers the break.
Version 1.2 (October 15, 2026)
- Notifications: once allowed, every app's notifications reach you through Toggle, wearing that app's icon. Choose Everything, Messages and replies, or Off, for all apps or each one. An app you still have installed and unblocked notifies by itself, so nothing arrives twice.
- A blocked app's Open in Toggle lands on that app, even if you miss the notification.
- X: a native account menu, and promoted posts stay hidden.
- A link shared to Toggle opens on that page, even the first time.
- Browser: an optional plain browser in Settings for links outside your apps.
- Fixes.
Notifications in Toggle explains the levels.
Version 1.1 (October 14, 2026)
- Faster Instagram and Threads: your feed opens right away from where you left off, with photos sized for your screen.
- YouTube: comments open in a sheet over the video, and the mini player keeps playing while you use your other apps.
- Daily goal: once you reach it, your apps turn grey and opening one asks if you want to continue.
- Reddit: a search tab, and the menu now opens over everything.
- LinkedIn: Messages is its own tab.
- X: the For you row hides with the header, and videos play full screen without the tab bar.
- Switching a filter only reloads the page you're on when it adds something to it.
- Fixes for Threads sign-in, Facebook scrolling, YouTube Studio uploads and onboarding.
The daily goal's greying was removed later in October 2026. The goal itself stays: onboarding asks how much time you want back each day, and Settings has "Set a goal".
Version 1.0 (October 12, 2026)
The first release on the App Store. Nine apps (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Threads, Reddit, LinkedIn, Facebook and Snapchat) in one iPhone app, with switches per app and blocking of the real apps through Screen Time.
Browser extensions
- Toggle for Chrome is live on the Chrome Web Store, free. Toggle for Chrome has the switches per site.
- Toggle for Safari (Mac) was submitted to the Mac App Store on October 14, 2026 and is coming once Apple lists it. See Toggle for Safari.
